I have been Senior Pastor of Little Cypress Baptist Church since 1997. I have been married to my dear wife, Elizabeth, since 1973. . We have two wonderful adult children, Daniel and Deborah, and five delightful grandchildren. I have a Bachelor of Arts from Houston Baptist University, and a Masters of Arts in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Some of my hobbies and interests include motorcycling, skiing, fishing and hunting. I also enjoy reading works by Henry Blackaby, James Dobson, and John McArthur among others. Most importantly I love Jesus. I want to be obedient to Him and serve Him wherever He has me.
I believe that God equips a servant to accomplish the task He calls him to. I have found this to be true in every place I have served. I believe that the Word of God is infallible, inspired by God, and without error. I am serving in a church that is uniquely a part of the Southern Baptist of Texas Convention, and I fully concur with the doctrinal views of the Southern Baptist Convention. Our goal as a church is to accomplish our generations part of the Great Commission while living out the Great Commandment to love God and one another.
I believe that a Minister of the Gospel is supposed to be doing whatever the Master tells him to do, wherever the Master tells him to do it. My goal is to obey the Lord’s leading to serve Him wherever, whenever He gives me the opportunity. I believe that Ministers of the Gospel should be able to communicate and accomplish vision and action. The message of the Gospel is that God can forgive us and change us. We can forgive others and work within His power to see His work accomplished all around us every day. All of this depends on the kind of love that helps without enabling, holds accountable without condemning, and is willing to do what is right even if no one else will.

I am originally from North Texas and have spent most of my life in that area except for the time that I served in the United States Army. It was while serving in the military that I met my wife Kelley, and together we have three children: Sean, Serenity, and Levi.
I graduated from Dallas Christian College where I was awarded Valedictorian and received a Bachelor of Science in Practical Ministries and Bible. I am called to student ministry and previous to beginning my service here at LCBC I served as a volunteer youth director in Gainesville, TX. I am very passionate about discipling the next generation of the church and coming alongside students and growing them in their faith and personal walks with Christ.
